I have always been a strong voice for our community. I have fought hard to tackle inequality in all aspects of our society. I have worked to ensure that the economic recovery benefits everyone , not just the few. I want a society built on decent jobs, quality public services and strong communities.
I was elected to Dáil Éireann on my first attempt in the 2011 General Election. I was previously a Labour Party Councillor for Ballymun, Finglas, Glasnevin and Santry (2008-2011). I am Vice-Chair of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise, and Innovation.
