Jim O’Callaghan
Fianna Fáil
Party 2

Incumbent : No

Main message to voters:

If elected I will seek to advance policies and laws that promote fairness and enterprise. Traditionally, FF governments have provided for fair taxation and decent social welfare rates. They have also promoted policies that encouraged work and enterprise. I will seek to continue such policies.

Election history:

Jim contested the 2004 local election and the 2007 general election for Fianna Fail but was not elected. He was subsequently elected as a Councillor to Dublin City Council in the 2009 local elections and was re-elected in the 2014 local elections.

  1. The housing crisis requires the introduction of emergency laws to allow for a fast track planning and procurement process to build new social housing.
  2. Our education system which has been taken for granted during the crisis needs new direction to meet the requirements of students and employers.
  3. We should empty our prisons of most non violent offenders, and our laws should be much less tolerant of acts of violence against the person.
