Workers Party
Party 15

Incumbent : No

Main message to voters:

I'm running for election because I believe the people of Meath deserve decent jobs & public services, and an end to austerity. The Workers Party in Meath have led local resistance to water & property taxes, and believe that socialism offers an alternative to austerity, unemployment & unfair charges.

Election history:

As a Workers' Party member, I have always prioritised local campaigns against bin charges, the property tax and the unjust water tax - now, and since 1984. I ran for local and national government in Meath on three occasions, and am the only socialist contesting the election in Meath East.

  1. Scrap the water tax & build a recovery for workers; living wage jobs through state investment; affordable public childcare; improved workers’ rights.
  2. Solve the housing crisis. Build public housing; introduce rent controls and security of tenure; control the price of land; tax dereliction/vacancy.
  3. Repeal the 8th Amendment. Free, safe, legal access to abortion. Build a secular, democratic Ireland and remove all religious influence over the State.
