Fine Gael
Party 1

Incumbent :

Main message to voters:

Our recovery is still fragile. Fine Gael has the best long-term plan to secure our recovery and to ensure that more people benefit from it. Our plan will see 200,000 new jobs created by 2020, will make work pay & will see the money from growing employment invested wisely in the services we need

Election history:

I have been a TD for Dublin Central since Feb '11. I was appointed Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport in July '14. Prior to that, I served as the Minister for European Affairs. I was also a member of Seanad Éireann from '07 to '11 and served as member of Dublin City Council from '04 to '07.

Priorities:

  1. 135,000 jobs have been created in the last 4 years but too many people are still jobless. We will continue to pursue the policies to rectify that
  2. An economy should support society. Housing is central to that. Our plan will deliver housing units so that homes can be built for those who need them
  3. Tackling congestion & providing adequate transport is key to keeping Dublin moving. Luas Cross City, more Dublin bikes & buses will make a difference
